Tips and recommendations to raise and feed a safe and healthy toddler
By 2 years old, your toddler will be more active.
If your child is not meeting these milestones or has lost skills they once had, talk to your child’s doctor.
Your child is still learning how to chew properly. Avoid tough, sticky, or hard foods that may increase risk of chocking.
These include:
(should be spread thinly on other food such as toast)
(grapes, hotdogs, tomatoes, etc.)
Make sure your child is seated and buckled in a high chair when eating.
Give your child plenty of time to eat.
Discourage talking and eating at the same time.
Your toddler’s throat is around the size of a nickel, cut any foods bigger than that.
Include food from all food groups.
